About Me

I am a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Recently, I have been designing stock screeners for low-vision users, working on music compositions, training for black belt, and developing a dental skills education app.

Skills

Here are a few cool things about me

Public Speaking

As a Karate Instructor, I have learned the important skill of public speaking. I have learned "read" audiences, articulate my thoughts in a clear manner, and research and organize ideas.

Programming

I began learning programming in 2013 using the MIT app inventor 2, and I created games, such as Wheel of Fortune and developed a program to read stock data to low vision users. From there, I learned Javascript, Python, HTML/CSS, and Git through Codecademy. In summer of 2016, I set up a website hosted on a raspberry pi to collect and read stock data to low vision users, taught myself PHP, and coded the webpage using the Yahoo Finance API. When the API was shut down, I went and reconstructed for Alpha Vantage API, IEX API, and then moved the system to Google's Dialogflow to integrate with the google assistant. Development continues to this day.

Finance

I have interests in economics as well as stock trading. Economics is a personal hobby, and I enjoy reading books such as The General Theory (Keynes), The Wealth of Nations (Adam Smith), Red Ink (Wessel), and Freakonomics (Levitt, Dubner). As for trading, I have been developing stock trading metrics and machine learing algorithms to assist with trading in order to inform my own trading portfolio.

Things I've done

Here are a few cool things about me

First Piano Lesson

In Fall 2008, when I was 4, I began taking piano lessons from Stephanie Honz, who has taught me perserverance, persistence, and the importance of details.

Healthy Foods

In Decemeber 2013, I began creating android smartphone apps using the mit ai2 app inventor. My first app was "Healthy Foods", which scanned food barcodes and gave information about their nutrition and highlighted if foods contained unhealthy ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils.

My First Stock Screener

In Summer 2016, I set up a stock webpage hosted on a raspberry pi that served up stock data, with a focus towards low-vision users. On August 30th, 2016, I would run my first programatic screener, which reccomended value stocks based on custom criteria (my personal merit function). You can see those picks, along with my analysis of the results, here.

My First Album

I have been composing and producing music since 2015, and I published my first EP in 2019. You can find me on soundcloud as Lobby Conversation.

Google Assistant Integrated Stock Program

In February 2020, I began working on integrating my stock data metrics from my stock webpage to the Google Assistant. The program uses Dialogflow and a webhook through firebase to deliver stock data from the IEX API. The program has been consistenly improved to fit customer needs, such as interpreting company names (Apple, General Electric) as text (not tickers), and is now on its 9th alpha release. You can try a demo of the program here:
